SAND SPRINGS, Oklahoma -- Sand Springs Police apprehended three juvenile male escapees from the L.E. Rader Juvenile Detention Center just before midnight Sunday.
The Office of Juvenile Affairs said the trio escaped from the facility at 8:20 p.m. and thanks to the center's alert system, all three were back in custody in less than four hours.
The L.E. Rader Juvenile Detention Center is located west of Sand Springs on state Highway 51.
One of the juveniles was 16 and other two were 17.
OJA says the three overpowered a staff member and used bed sheets to climb over the security fence before running away.
When they knocked on a door at nearby Sand Springs home just before midnight asking for water and to use the phone, they were arrested.
The staff member was not injured and all three juveniles are now in the Tulsa County jail.
