BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma -- Archie Bradley has built a reputation of being an excellent two-sport star in football and baseball.

When you're a potential first round draft pick in next year's MLB Draft and can hit nearly triple digits on the radar gun, it's easy to overlook that other sport you're good at.

"I just came in to my own in football recently,” Bradley said. “If people just come out and watch me play and they say, 'this guy has the instincts, the footwork, the release, the mechanics. He can be that leader that can lead that team to a state championship and hopefully a national championship in the future.'"

Bradley's gotten close. He took the Tigers to the Class 6A semifinals last season, before losing to eventual state champ Union.

He also attended the prestigious Elite 11 quarterback camp over the summer where he was called one of the "surprises" by Rivals.com.

Bradley wasn’t surprised.

"I guess I can understand it because everyone’s written me off as a baseball guy,” Bradley said. “I just showed everyone that I truly am a good quarterback. I worked for it and I hope I changed some peoples mind."

And he's still set on playing both baseball and football at the University of Oklahoma, even though a big baseball contract could be waiting for him next June.

"You have to know that during baseball, if I'm not pitching, I'm going to be working on my three-step drop, studying the playbook,” Bradley said. “When I'm in football, I have to stay in shape at the same time for baseball. It's just a constant balance."

That's the way Bradley likes it, but he'd like for you to think of him as a football player too.
