STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy will not be attending Saturday's Fan Day, nor the Cowboys' Saturday morning practice, opting to fly to Florida for his son Gunnar's baseball game.

The nine-year-old Gundy is playing as part of the Oklahoma Elite team in the USSSA 32 World Series. Coach Gundy will catch a flight to Florida Friday following a team meeting and will head back to Stillwater at 10:30 a.m. eastern time, missing just one practice and Fan Day.

"The kids have played seven games over the last week to get to this point and I told Gunnar if they got to national championship day, I wouldn't miss it," Gundy said. "The worst thing about being a coach is that you never get to see your own kids' games. This might be a once in a lifetime opportunity and I want to be there for my son."

Gundy autographed more than 600 posters to be given out to fans at media day, which will start at 2 p.m.
