Elmore City Motorcyclist Killed In Collision With Tree

A one-vehicle motorcycle crash in Garvin County has claimed the life of an Elmore City, Oklahoma man early Sunday morning, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

GARVIN COUNTY, Oklahoma – A one-vehicle motorcycle crash in Garvin County has claimed the life of an Elmore City, Oklahoma man early Sunday morning, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

This happened at 2:11 a.m., on North County Road 3170, two miles north of East County Road 1660 in Garvin County. Twenty-six-year-old Jeffery Dee Jones was transported by Elmore City EMS to Pauls Valley General Hospital, where he later died from the injuries suffered in the wreck.

According to the accident report, a 2001 Honda motorcycle driven by Jones was southbound on County Road 3170 when it ran off the east side of the roadway and struck a fence post. The motorcycle then lost control and struck a tree.

Troopers said Jones was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. The cause of this collision is still under investigation.
