TULSA, Oklahoma -- Employees of an east Tulsa check cashing business were surprised Wednesday morning by two robbers, one armed with a knife.

The store is located in the 6900 block of East Admiral Place.

Tulsa Police say the robbers locked a woman and her 6-year-old son in a restroom and tied up two other employees with zip ties.

Police say the robbers had cut through a back wall, waited for employees to arrive, then tried to get the woman to open the safe.

"They reportedly told the victims that they would not harm them if they cooperated. These types of crimes can escalate," said Tulsa Police Office Leland Ashley.

Police say the suspects grabbed the cash and ran down Admiral. Police searched the area but could not find the suspects.

"There's not a lot to go on right now. We do have surveillance tape it's just not available right now," Ashley said.

Suspects are described as black males, six feet tall and 200 pounds. They were wearing gloves and blue bandanas covered their faces.

Quik Cash said their co-workers are still shaken.

"It's a real scary ordeal. The lady had her young son. You can imagine how he was traumatized just not knowing," Ashley said.

Police say the suspects must have had a plan because of how they entered the Quik Cash and that they sat and waited.

Something police say is unusual, but may help lead to their arrest.

"Someone's going to talk about what they did. Someone's going to talk about how easy they felt this robbery was. Then they'll say something to someone," Ashley said.

Tulsa police say the victims were not seriously injured.
