Landry Jones Receives Player Of The Week Award

The OU quarterback has been named the Big 12's offensive player of the week.

IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones received conference honors this week being named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week after his school-record performance against Kansas State.

Jones completed 35-of-47 passes for a school-record 505 yards and five touchdowns in OU's 58-17 win over the previously unbeaten Kansas State Wildcats.

His yardage figure against the Wildcats was also the most for any player at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

The junior from Artesia, New Mexico, threw touchdowns of 11, 18, 29, 8 and 12 yards.

Oklahoma will face Texas A&M Saturday Nov. 5 and the game will be televised on ABC.

Also receiving conference honors this week are Missouri's E.J. Gaines who was named the Defensive Player of the Week and Texas kicker Justin Tucker received the Special Teams Player of the Week award.
