Tulsa's John 3:16 Mission is helping make sure struggling families have a Thanksgiving meal.
A large crowd lined up Monday morning to get a Thanksgiving food basket with turkey and the trimmings, all donated by generous Oklahomans, churches, and businesses.
Over the next few days, the mission hopes to give out up to 6,000 turkey baskets.
"Hunger is at an all time high in our state. We want to do what we can to make sure people go hungry in our city during the Thanksgiving season," said Rev. Steve Whitaker, John 3:16 Mission.
The baskets will be given out while supplies last at the Mission's family and youth center at 2027 North Cincinnati. John 3:16 is also accepting food donations.
