MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma - Ryan Satterfield was laid to rest Tuesday after he was shot to death on the day before Thanksgiving. Six people have been charged in his death.

Michelle Satterfield had Thanksgiving all planned out when she got a call the night before that her son had been shot.

"Mother's worst nightmare, bottom line, just a mother's worst nightmare," Michelle said. "I don't want another mother to go through this."

Ryan Satterfield was at a friend's house that night in the 1500 block of East Okmulgee in Muskogee. Police say six teens showed up to rob Satterfield and his four friends, and Satterfield was shot to death.

The 17-year-old had already passed away when police, and later his mother, arrived.

"A laugh that nobody can ever forget, eyes that melted my soul. He was my baby boy," Michelle tearfully explained.

Six teenagers have now been charged with first degree murder.  They are:

  • Jordan Miller
  • Martin Miller
  • Deandre Clark
  • Fredrick Watson
  • Tommy Dean
  • Troy Dufur

Michelle Satterfield says at least one of the suspects went to school with her son.

"I'm angry. I'm hurt. I'm sad. I'm confused. Obviously no child is perfect, but really? This is senseless," Michelle said.

The heartbroken mother of three says her blue-eyed boy loved his family, his dog Rufus and adventure. When 700 people showed up to his funeral, she knew others loved him too.

"My child was taken from way too young, way too early. I'm just grateful that my last words to him were ‘I love you son,' and his last words were ‘I love you more mom,'" she said.

Michelle Satterfield says she plans to be at every single court hearing for the six suspects.
