The Caddo Bruins captured its first ever football state championship Saturday afternoon with a 44-14 win over Davenport.

Despite a fourth quarter spark by Davenport, the Bruins were paced by Dillon Proctor who ran for more than 200 yards in route to the state title win.

Early on in the game Proctor scored the first points of the game on a 70-yard touchdown run to put Caddo up 6-0.

Ty Miller followed that up with an interception for the Bruins. That set up a big drive for Caddo and with 6.5 seconds remaining before halftime, Proctor tucked the ball and ran it in for a one-yard touchdown. The point after was no good, but the Bruins still held an 18-0 advantage at the break.

In the second half, Caddo continued to dominate. Proctor threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to Rylan Miller. Ty Miller's conversion ran made it 26-0 Caddo halfway through the third.

Later in the third, Proctor found the end zone again on a 55-yard run to go up 32-0.

Caddo held Davenport scoreless until the fourth quarter when Matt Miller punched in a 1-yard touchdown run. The Bulldogs missed a pass for the two point conversion to trail 32-6 with eight minutes remaining.

Miller scored again for Davenport with just under four minutes to play to cut Caddo's lead to 32-14, but their fourth quarter rally wouldn't be enough.

Proctor scored on a 44-yard touchdown run to go up 38-14 with 2:44 remaining and then he intercepted a pick six and ran it back 71 yards for another score to go up 44-14 and seal the Bruins first state title.

Both teams entered the game undefeated and Caddo finishes a perfect 14-0 on the year while Davenport's final record sits at 13-1.
