Tulsa, Oklahoma House Candidate Stricken From Ballot

A candidate for the state House of Representatives has been stricken from the ballot after the Oklahoma Election Board determined she had not been registered in the Tulsa district for the required six months before filing for office.

The special election is set for February 14, 2012.

The Election Board voted unanimously on Tuesday to remove 57-year-old Jacqualyn Moss's name from the ballot in the special election for House District 71. Another candidate in the Republican primary -- 31-year-old Katie Henke -- challenged Moss's candidacy by claiming her voter registration was invalid.

No one appeared on Moss's behalf and there was no telephone listing for her.

Five Republicans and two Democrats remain in the race for the central Tulsa seat.
