Construction will begin Tuesday on a project that will widen Yale Avenue in South Tulsa.
Crews will be widening Yale between 61st and 71st in an area already prone to traffic slowdowns.
Officials with the City of Tulsa, Tulsa County and St. Francis Hospital will hold a groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday for the project.
That stretch of road is currently four lanes wide, and will be widened to six.
The cost of the project is $3.5 million, which will be split 50-50 between the City of Tulsa and Tulsa County.
Tulsa County Highway Construction Division will be leading the project.
Construction is expected to wrap up in July.
