Several passersby on U.S. Highway 75 alerted the Tulsa Fire Department to a blaze in the 1000 block of North Madison Sunday morning.

The fire started in the kitchen of the home at about 8:45 a.m., spreading to the utility room and attic.

The residents were home and made it out safely. They were in the front yard when firefighters arrived.

The Tulsa Area Red Cross has been called in to help the displaced family.
