OKC Police Find Couple Passed Out In Car With Infant Daughter

Oklahoma City police respond to a drunk driver call only to discover a couple passed out in their car while their infant daughter remained strapped in her car seat.

According to court documents, police found Joshua Wesley Kahn and Mystene Ann Scott passed out in their car on January 18 at a convenience store located at 2845 N.W. 10th Street. Police say the car was still running and in drive. The car's tires were resting on the curb, keeping it from moving forward, where a cage of propane tanks was located.

In the back seat of the car, an officer found the couple's 23-month-old daughter sitting in her car seat, soaked in her own urine.

After several attempts, the officer was able to wake up Kahn. Police say Kahn couldn't open his eyes and was drooling from the mouth. Kahn told police he had taken Xanax and Loratab. When Scott finally awoke, police say she also couldn't open her eyes and had slurred speech.

Police found clear bags in the car that contained several pills later identified as xanax, hydrocodone and oxycodone. Officers also found a green leaf-like substance, believed to be marijuana, in the ashtray of the car.

The couple was arrested and each charged with one count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a child and one count of not being in actual physical control of a motor vehicle.
