A north Tulsa homeowner says a house he's trying to remodel is being targeted by arsonists.

Hugh Abercrombie is rebuilding an historic home in the Brady Heights neighborhood, but someone has tried to set it on fire three times since the beginning of the year.

Work to restore the historic home in the Brady Heights Neighborhood started around the beginning of the month.

Abercrombie bought it at auction last summer and officially took possession January 3, 2012.

"It's much more rewarding to do these. They take up a lot more time, a lot more labor intrusive because you're restoring old stuff but, at the end of the day, it's very rewarding," Abercrombie said.

But Abercrombie has faced some unexpected hurdles. The home has been hit by arsonists three times in the past 2 1/2 weeks.

You can see flame and smoke damage on the wall inside the home. Spots on the ground indicate gasoline was used to ignite the fire.

"It doesn't make it more difficult to remodel, what it does is it takes more money out of my pocket. It costs money that I don't have," Abercrombie said.

North Tulsa has seen its share of arson over the past year. While the Fire Marshall won't release the specific number, News On 6 covered several fires at abandoned buildings that investigators say were started intentionally.

No one has been arrested in any of those cases.

Abercrombie says he's considering offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction. Anyone who can help is asked to call the Fire Marshall's office.
