A man is in the Tulsa County jail on numerous complaints of vandalism and arson stemming from a series of incidents Thursday night in the 17th and Quaker area.

Tulsa Police say Archie Monroe, a homeless man, became combative as they were trying to handcuff him, even spitting in their faces.

He was taken to jail after going on what police called a rampage.

It started around 9:00 p.m. when Tulsa Police and Tulsa Fire both responded to a small structure fire near 16th and Quaker and multiple reports of vandalism.

Police say Monroe vandalized six cars parked on the street in the 1300 block of East 17th.

At about 9:50 p.m. officers were called to a sexual battery that had occurred at the Long John Silver's at 14th and South Peoria.  At the restaurant, police found Monroe and the father of the sexual assault victim involved in a fight.

Monroe was taken to a Tulsa hospital to be treated for a possible broken jaw and two missing teeth before being transported to jail.
