Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant will take part in this year's 3-point contest, as the league announced Wednesday he will replace injured East All-Star guard Joe Johnson.

Johnson injured his left knee during Atlanta's game on Monday against Chicago. He did not sustain any structural damage to ligaments or muscles, but he will be out for the next couple of games in order for it to heal.

Boston's Rajon Rondo will replace Johnson in the NBA All-Star game on Sunday.

Durant will test his skills in the 3-point contest on Saturday night. Coverage of that competition begins at 7 p.m. CST.
