Everyone was in place. The operation was about to go down.
They blasted through the front door — gun in hand — and arrested the people inside the McAlester home. The three, wearing t-shirts bearing the words "Border Patrol" and "Fugitive Recovery," got their guys — except the "agents" were not real law enforcement, according to police, and are the ones sitting in jail.
McAlester police say a man hired the three suspects to evict three people living at the home he owned in the 200 block of East Van Buren.
Dusty Swing, 45, the landlord, is charged with one count of conspiracy. The three alleged law enforcement impersonators all face three counts of kidnapping, 1st degree burglary, arresting without proper authority and impersonating a law enforcement agent.
Brian Garrison, 39; Gary Mooney, 37; and Margie Willaford, 36, all of McAlester, were booked into the Pittsburg County Jail. Willaford posted bond and has been released. Swing was re-arrested last week after failing to appear for a court hearing on the conspiracy charge.
Authorities say Swing planned the kidnapping of the three tenants. He posted a $10,000 bond and was released. His next court date is March, 9, 2012. A preliminary hearing is set for March 19, 2012 for Garrison, Mooney and Willaford.
