NORMAN, Oklahoma – After a stretch of tough losses a while back, the Sooners are definitely hitting their stride again.

OU won its fourth straight game and sixth in the past seven on Friday with a 5-1 win against the Kansas State Wildcats.

Despite the streak, the Sooners still remain below .500 in Big 12 play at 3-4 and are 17-10 overall.

Kansas State actually got on the board first with a run in the top of the first inning. But from that point on, it was all Oklahoma.

The Sooners came back to tie it in the third, but poured it on in the fourth. An RBI single from Hunter Lockwood and a couple of errors from the Wildcats turned into a three-run inning and helped OU cruise to the win.

Jordan John got the win for Oklahoma, pitching the full game and giving up six hits and the lone Kansas State run.

Matt Applegate picked up the loss for the Wildcats.

The two teams will continue their series at 2 p.m. Saturday at L. Dale Mitchell Park.
