The Golden Hurricane was unable to lock down the series sweep Saturday, falling to the Memphis Tigers 7-6 thanks to two big offensive innings from the tigers, handing TU its second loss of conference play.

Memphis started the scoring off in the top of the third with two on base and one out, Morgan Mosby laid down a sacrifice bunt to bring Alyssa Palmeri home to tie the game 1-1. Two at-bats later with two on base, Ellen Roberts homered over the right field wall to take a 4-1 advantage.

Samantha Cobb knocked a three-run home run in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game, but the Tigers' offense wouldn't stay quiet and battled back in the top of the fifth.

Laura Curtis drew a walk and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt. Three at-bats later, Amber Lindehal doubled to right center, bringing Curtis home and taking a 5-4 lead. Jami Miller came in to pinch run for Lindehal and two at-bats later Ashleigh King singled to left field to score two and take a 7-4 lead.

Tulsa tacked on a sacrifice fly and an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth, but was unable to overcome the deficit.

Jordan Richmond (4-8) received a win for her outing, giving up six earned runs on eight hits in her 4.2 innings of service for the Tigers. Aimee Creger (13-3) received a loss despite allowing just four earned runs on two hits.

Tulsa will try to get back to its winning ways at 5 p.m. Tuesday against Missouri State.
