Colcord Man Dies In Delaware County Wreck

A 30-year-old man was thrown from his pickup and killed early Saturday morning just outside Colcord.

A Colcord man is dead after being ejected from his pickup in an early morning wreck. The one-vehicle crash took place at 1:45 a.m. on a county road 2 miles north of Colcord in Delaware County.

Christopher David Fletcher failed to make a curve on County Road S 670. His 2003 Dodge pickup rolled one and a quarter times before coming to rest, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Fletcher, 30, was ejected from the truck and suffered fatal head and internal injuries.

The Colcord man had the odor of alcohol on his person, according to the trooper's report. Cause of the collision is listed as unsafe speed on a curve.

Fletcher was not wearing a seat belt.
