A 47-year-old Tulsa woman is dead after the motorcycle she was riding on crashed Sunday on the Creek Turnpike just east of 33rd West Avenue.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said the motorcycle was going east on the turnpike when it apparently had a flat tire.

The bike skidded on the pavement ejecting  Barbara Thomas of Tulsa.

The man driving the motorcycle, Paul Thomas, 51, of Tulsa, was injured and taken to a Tulsa hospital in critical condition, an EMSA spokesperson said.

Neither person was wearing a helmet. The crash happened around 6 p.m. and closed eastbound lanes on the turnpike for over an hour.
