Prison Escapee Recaptured In Coweta

An escapee from the Oklahoma Department of Corrections was arrested this week in Coweta.

Coweta Police Lieutenant Donnie Krumsiek say officers got several calls about a suspicious person and when they investigated, they found 23-year-old John Crandall walking on 337th East Avenue.

Krumsiek says Crandall was not forthcoming with information but a check turned up he was an escapee from the Tulsa Community Correctional Center.

Crandall was serving time for possessing and concealing a stolen vehicle and eluding a police officer. He was reported missing from the center in mid-April.

He was arrested and taken to the Wagoner County jail.
