Fire investigators are looking into what they says is a suspicious fire at an East Tulsa apartment complex late Sunday night.

Tulsa Fire says they got the call at around 11:45 p.m. to the Plaza Hills East Apartments in the 13000 block of East 16th Street.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to one bedroom of an apartment.  No one was inside.

When firefighters arrived they could see light smoke coming from the apartment. One neighbor says he was surprised to see just how many firefighters responded to the scene.

"It doesn't really happen here much. There's really no fires that happen here. So it's a pretty quiet neighborhood. Really surprised to see that everybody's out here all of these fire trucks out here, this late at night," said Isaac Mitchell.

There are four apartments in each building of the complex, but only one apartment sustained damage in the fire.

"We got it knocked down real quickly. Did a quick search everybody's out," said Tulsa Fire Acting District Chief Captain Robby Robinson.

Robinson says a woman which lived in the apartment did show up and she was questioned.

No injuries reported.
