FOYIL, Oklahoma -_ Rogers County Sheriff's deputies arrested two 20-year-old Claremore men Monday night following a chase down U.S. Highway 66.

It happened just after 9 p.m.

Jeffrey Strickland was charged with eluding the police and multiple traffic violations, and his passenger, Joshua Jones, was charged with unlawful possession of paraphernalia.

Police first observed a white Dodge truck swerving on U.S. Highway 66 near County Road 4200. When the police deputy turned on his lights, the truck sped up.

Strickland attempted to elude the police and ran through several stop signs before pulling into a residence in Foyil and running into the house.

Jones then got out of the truck and surrendered. The deputies searched Jones and found a syringe in his pocket.

Jones told police that he didn't know the syringe was in his pocket.

Strickland later came out of the house and surrendered to the deputies.

Both the driver and the passenger were taken into custody and transported to Rogers County Jail.
