A woman from Castle, Oklahoma, was killed after she was hit by a car on State Highway 48 in Okfuskee County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

It happened early Saturday morning on State Highway 48, about three miles north of Castle in Okfuskee County. Troopers say 67-year-old Lois Gauze was walking southbound in the middle of the highway when she was struck by a 1992 Buick Le Sabre driven by Jesse Ramsey.
