Police Arrest Naked Man Seen Running Around, Punching People At OKC Apartments
OKLAHOMA CITY - Witnesses called police on June 20 after seeing a naked man run around an apartment complex in northwest Oklahoma City, yelling obscenities and trying to grab people.
The manager of Meadowbrook Apartments in the 4300 block of N.W. 36th Street called 911 after the man, later identified as 33-year-old Michael Wofford, tried to grab her then punched her male assistant in the face.
Witnesses told police Wofford first walked, completely naked, to the bottom of the steps of one building and announced, "I am God." He then ran through the parking lot, waving his hands and demanding women perform oral sex on him.
The apartment manager told police she was so scared she took off her high heels and ran into a resident's apartment to hide.
Another witness told police Wofford walked up to his girlfriend's car while she was sitting inside and tried to open the door. The man ran out to help her, and Wofford ran into an apartment.
Police discovered the apartment belonged to Wofford's girlfriend. They went inside and the woman said Wofford didn't live with her, but he'd spent the previous night in her apartment getting high on PCP. She told police he was hiding in a back bedroom.
Officers told Wofford to come out of the bedroom, but he refused. They forced open the door and shocked Wofford with a tazer. Wofford fell to the floor and officers were able to handcuff him.
Wofford was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on complaints of indecent exposure, assault and battery, disorderly conduct, and public intoxication.
