Police said a house-breaking call involving a man they believed to be armed and barricaded in a Bixby home, ended in the man's suicide Tuesday afternoon.

Bixby Police responded to a call of a security alarm going off in a home. Officers outside the home reported seeing a man running through the living room of the house, and hearing loud noises coming from inside.

Police said the 52-year-old man's wife had filed for a protective order against the man on June 20, and that the protective order was permanently granted against him on Monday.

Officers said they had reason to believe the man had access to guns. They requested help from the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office when it looked like the situation would turn into a stand-off.

When police entered the home, they found the man in a back room of the house, dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Despite the protective order, the man and woman were still married. Police said they had been married for over 30 years.

No identities have been released yet, as police are still attempting to notify the family of the deceased.

No officers or deputies were injured in this incident.
