Tulsa police said a man with a mobile meth lab and driving a stolen vehicle lost control and slammed into the side of a woman's house late Tuesday night.

Donald Eugene Broomhall, 38, ran a red light at the intersection of First Street and Utica Avenue about 10:30 p.m, then sped off and threw parts of a meth lab out the window along the way, police said.

The chase around the neighborhood was short, before the vehicle ended up hitting a house at Seventh Street and Pittsburg Avenue.

Police said Broomhall was heading north of Pittsburg and couldn't make the left turn.

The vehicle hit the garage, but a portion of the house took a hit and the homeowner, who was inside the house reading, was missed by only a few feet.

She said if the vehicle had moved a few inches closer, the impact would've taken her out.

"I heard the sirens and I saw the lights coming across the yard …and then heard the ‘boom' right there by my elbow," homeowner Shelly Haverfield said.

Police arrested Broomhall on complaints of traffic violations, eluding police, possession of a stolen vehicle, malicious injury to property, driving under the influence of drugs, resisting arrest, endeavoring to manufacture meth and disposing hazardous waste.

Broomhall has previously served prison time for drugs, according to the Department of Corrections website.
