TULSA, Oklahoma - Tulsa Fire investigators were called to the scene of a house fire at Quanah Avenue and West Admiral Boulevard Sunday morning.

A passerby called the fire in at about 9:20 a.m. after seeing smoke coming from the home, according to District Chief Eddie Bell with the Tulsa Fire Department.

When firefighters arrived, six residents and their pets had made it out safely. The occupants woke up, smelled smoke and then found the fire a little while later, Bell said.

Bell said the fire started in the basement of an out building located next to the home. Firefighters put out flames that were coming from the back of the structure when they arrived, he said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
