The burn ban for Tulsa County has been extended until July 23, 2012, according to the Tulsa County Commissioners. At that time, an additional burn ban may be issued.
The resolution bans outdoor burning in the county including controlled burns and bonfires.
"Emergency management officials have been surveying area fire departments for the last several days," according to Michael Willis, chief deputy county commissioner and public information officer in a news release.

"The results, along with the weather forecast determined that conditions were appropriate for a burn ban according to the guidelines for extreme fire dangers set out in state law."
Exceptions are made for outdoor grilling with electric or gas grills, the news release states. All outdoor grilling must be done over a non-flammable surface like gravel or concrete.
Outdoor grilling should also be done under adult supervision and with a water hose near by, the release states.
Other county burn ban notices:
Commissioners in Okmulgee County, Wagoner County and Rogers County adopted a burn ban on Monday, while commissioners in McIntosh and Osage Counties extended theirs for another week.
