Tulsa Woman Honored As Oklahoma's Big Sister Of The Year

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma has named a Tulsa woman as the organization's "Big Sister of the Year."

The announcement honoring Martha Jennings was made Monday.

Jennings was one of several people from across the state honored by Monday by the organization.

Jennings, matched with her little since 2004, is the constant in her little's life and encourages her to do her best in all things, especially school according to said Sharla Owens, CEO of BBBSOK. Her little said, "She gives me advice and does not make things complicated. She loves me, and we can have girl talk."

"Big Brother of the Year" was awarded to Dan Thompson of Oklahoma City, Dirk and Stephanie O'Hara of Norman were named as the Statewide "Champion of the Year" for 2012 and Andrew and Melissa Heuer of Oklahoma City were the recipients of the "Big Couple of the Year" award.
