ORU Volleyball Stunned In Fifth Set

Buffalo won the last eight points of the fifth set to overcome a 13-7 deficit and steal a victory from ORU.

The Oral Roberts volleyball team were looking to complete a sweep of all opponents at the University of Buffalo Invitational Saturday night, but instead, snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Down 13-7 in the final set, Buffalo reeled off eight straight points to take the fifth set 15-13, and the match, 3-2 ().

Liz Scott had 25 kills to lead the Buffalo offense. Scott also hit .479 to lead the Bulls to a .199 hit percentage as a team. Dana Musil added 15 kills for the Bulls.

For Oral Roberts, Tatum Fredeen had 18 kills on a .406 hit percentage to lead the Golden Eagles. ORU struggled offensively all night, committing 32 attack errors for the match.

Bruna Silva led all players with 24 digs.

Oral Roberts had come back to win the fourth set, after being down 2-1 going into the frame.

Sheina Fernandes and Silva earned all-tournament honors for ORU.

The Golden Eagles will head to Springfield, Missouri next weekend to participate in the Adidas Invitational at Missouri State.
