The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the operator of a boat failed to pay attention to her surroundings on Skiatook Lake Tuesday night and grounded the boat on the shoreline.

A passenger on the boat was injured when he was thrown from the boat onto the shore. Skiatook Fire Department took Tulsan Sherman Wilde, 54, to the hospital with head, neck and internal injuries.

According to the report from a trooper with OHP's marine enforcement division, the boat's driver, Cindy Wilde, 53, and another passenger, Michael Lang, 59, both of Tulsa, were not injured.

The crash happened southwest of Skiatook.

The trooper said Wilde was steering the boat back to a camp site area when she ran aground.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said neither passenger was wearing a personal floatation vest at the time of the crash.
