After 38 years of service, the last Vietnam Veteran serving in the Oklahoma National Guard is preparing to hang up his uniform for the final time this month.
Chief Warrant Officer Ronald Petty of Harrah saw combat in Vietnam, served his country worldwide and has experienced dramatic changes in the Army throughout the last four decades.
"I've served all around the world thanks to the Guard and made many friends," Petty said. "The Guard is like my family and I will always cherish the relationships I have made."
Ronald Petty, who serves as the Equal Employment Manager for the Oklahoma National Guard, began his military career in 1969 as an Army flight controller.
