One man is dead and another is in a Tulsa hospital following a shooting at a south Tulsa apartment complex just after midnight.

The shooting happened at the Fairmont Terrace Apartments in the 5800 block of South Owasso.

Robert Max Long, 20, was identified as Tulsa's 37th murder victim of 2012, Tulsa Police Sgt. Dave Walker said.

It appears as though Long knew his assailants, and that the motive was robbery and narcotics-related, Walker said.

Tulsa Police responded to a 911 call and found Long dead and a second man wounded inside a third-floor apartment.

EMSA took the wounded man to the hospital and he is expected to survive.

Police have no witnesses to the actual crime.

"Someone knocked on the door. Someone invaded the home. Shots rang out, and our victims didn't see anything," Tulsa police Capt.Travis Yates said.

Yates hopes the wounded man can help explain what happened.

"We literally don't even have a suspect description at this point but we do have one subject that is deceased and another subject that's been shot and been transported to the hospital," Yates said.

Tulsa police issued a news release at 5:26 a.m. that said officers are now looking for three men, with the shooter being a light-skinned black male between the ages of 20 to 30 years old and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information on this murder please call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
