Some of the remains of a missing Tulsa Marine from World War II will be buried with full military honors in Arlington National Cemetery near Washington, D.C.

Marine Corps 2nd Lt. Walter B. Vincent was identified as one seven military personnel aboard a PBJ-1 aircraft that failed to return from a night training mission over the island of what is now known as Vanuatu.

In 1945, the military officially declared all seven presumed deceased.

In April 1994, the aircraft's wreckage was discovered and human remains recovered and turned over to the U.S. Department of Defense.

The military says the Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory matched the DNA from those remains with that of the Marines' family members.

2nd Lt. Walter B. Vincent's remains along with his comrades will be buried on October 4th.

He was buried in Tulsa in May 2012, at a grave reserved by his mother.

News On 6 covered his funeral in May.
