Man Jailed After Tulsa Traffic Stop Turns Up $3,000 In Counterfeit Bills

A 23-year-old Tulsa man is in jail after police found $3,000 in counterfeit money on him following a traffic stop Monday afternoon.

Tulsa Police say an officer stopped Tristan Wilson after seeing him fail to obey a stop sign on South 108th East Avenue.

Police say Wilson was driving with a suspended license and when they searched his SUV, they found 114 counterfeit bills, marijuana and some stolen property.

According to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, Wilson had just been released from prison in mid-September after serving time on a conviction for impersonating another person.

Wilson was booked into the Tulsa County jail with a bond of $232,800 on 114 complaints of possession of a forged instrument. He is scheduled for an October 30th court appearance.

Jail records indicate the Secret Service is investigating to learn where Wilson obtained the counterfeit money.
