A Tulsa firefighter received minor injuries after crews responded to a house fire late Sunday morning. It happened at about 11:15 a.m. in the 2000 block of East 12th Place.

When firefighters arrived at the house, they found smoke coming from a front window and a truck parked in the driveway. They quickly learned that the house was vacant and the vehicle belonged to a neighbor.

Firefighters entered the home to knock down the fire.

"There is a large hole in the in the front room, and one of our firefighters fell into that hole and twisted his knee up," said Captain Nate Morgans with the Tulsa Fire Department.

It does not appear to be a serious injury, Morgans said, but the firefighter was sent for a medical evaluation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
