The Assistance League of Tulsa is collecting new or gently used books for area kids.

It's part of the group's national effort to collect 100,000 books by this Friday.

They're looking for books for Kindergarten-age through eighth grade.

The books will be given to some Tulsa public schools that have mentoring programs and two other child centers.

You can drop off donations at Tulsa Teachers Credit Unions, Steve's Sundry and the Assistance League's Bargain Resale Shop on 11th Street near Harvard Avenue.
