Tulsa's fifth-seeded women's soccer team earned a 1-0 overtime win over fourth-seeded East Carolina in the Conference USA Championship quarterfinals on Wednesday in El Paso.

This is the first time the Golden Hurricane team has advanced in the C-USA Championship since joining the league in 2005. TU moved to 12-5-3 on the year, while the Pirates concluded their season at 10-7-3 overall.

It was down to the final minutes of the game without either team scoring when TU's Rebecca Handley got her eighth goal of the year and fourth in as many games as she headed in a corner kick taken by Jordan O'Brien. Her game-winner was scored at the 95:48 mark.

O'Brien had a team-best three shots, while Lexis Learmonth, Claire Hulcer, Roman Edwards, Claire Nicholson and Stephanie Aitken each had two attempts, and four others had one shot. Hayley Harryman logged all 90 minutes in goal, picked up two saves and earned her fourth shutout of the year.

Both teams had 17 shots, while Tulsa had a 6-2 lead in shots on goal and a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Tulsa will face top-seeded Colorado College in the C-USA Championship semifinals on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
