The Golden Hurricane volleyball team toppled Tulane 3-2 Thursday in New Orleans.

The Golden Hurricane (19-8, 12-1 Conference USA) hit .143 (60-31-203) while holding the Green Wave (5-19, 3-10 C-USA) to a .078 (52-37-192) clip. Both teams tallied 14 blocks, a season high for Tulsa.

Senior outside hitter Tyler Henderson picked up 18 kills to lead Tulsa. She also recorded two service aces and four blocks in the match.

Junior outside hitter Kellie Culbertson earned her 14th double-double of the season with 15 kills and 19 digs. Culbertson, the C-USA leader in service aces, claimed two service aces during the contest.

Senior outside hitter Diana Silva chipped in 13 kills and 14 digs, while senior setter Jordan Clampitt had a team-leading 28 assists along with 12 digs.

Senior libero Jessica Adams paced the team with 23 digs.

Sophomore middle blocker Carly Boatwright and freshman middle blocker Ashley Hooper tallied seven blocks apiece.

The first frame had seven ties and four lead changes as Tulsa had a late 21-18 lead. The Green Wave scored seven of the next nine points to take the set 25-23. Silva earned four kills to pace Tulsa.

Henderson recorded six kills in the second set as the Hurricane took the stanza 25-21. Tulsa held Tulane to a .000 attack percentage in the frame.

The third set was close throughout as it consisted of 12 ties and two lead changes. The match was tied 18-18 but Tulane went on a 7-3 run to take the set 25-21. McGivern, Henderson and Silva each had three kills in the set.

The Golden Hurricane stormed out to a 10-5 advantage as it claimed the set 25-14. Tulsa held Tulane to a -.071 attack clip while Culbertson led TU with five kills and a service ace in the set.

Tulsa won the fifth set 15-7 as the Hurricane never trailed in the set. Silva tallied four kills to pace Tulsa.

The Golden Hurricane will end its road swing on Sunday, Nov. 4, against UTEP. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
