Wind Drives Smoke From Rural Bixby Fire To Tulsa

Strong southerly winds are pushing smoke from a brush fire in an area known as Bixby Ranch Estates into Tulsa.

News On 6 has received a number of phone calls about the smoke, with folks wondering where the fire is.

Bixby Fire says firefighters are on scene on the west side of the lake and have the fire under control. They are working actively to keep homes and other structures out of danger.

Bixby Ranch Estates is located near Bixhoma Lake, south of East 181st Street South.

The fire line is about a mile wide and is burning close to about 250 acres. Bixby Fire said the fire has been going on for about a day.
