ORU Women's Hoops Beats Rival Tulsa

Kevi Luper's scored 23 points and six rebounds lifted the Oral Roberts women's basketball team over cross-town rival Tulsa Friday night.

Taylor Cooper also added 19 for ORU as the Golden Eagles opened the season with the 64-53 win.

Freshman Ashley Clark led the TU effort with 12 points while Taleya Mayberry added 10 for the Golden Hurricane.

ORU out-rebounded Tulsa 40-38 while each team committed 23 turnovers. Both teams also struggled from the line in this one; TU shooting 53 percent while ORU was only slightly better at 54 percent.

Tulsa will return to action against UALR on Monday, Nov. 12 while ORU will look to improve to 2-0 next Friday at AT-Arlington.
