Mostly sunny with a few clouds will remain today and tomorrow before a chance of a few showers occurs Monday. Highs this afternoon will be in the lower 60s.
I'll keep the discussion short this morning. The pattern will remain dry and mild through the first part of the weekend before south winds will allow gulf moisture a chance to return across the southern plains in advance of an upper level storm system. This means we'll continue with a slight chance for showers and storms Monday into early Tuesday across southern and eastern OK, including the Tulsa metro area. Model data is not very bullish on a major return of moisture across northern OK. Higher chances will remain south of our immediate area.
Temperatures today will again be very mild with morning lows in the 30s moving into highs in the lower and mid-60s. Another fast moving upper level wave will bring a surface boundary into the area later tonight and a few clouds into the area this afternoon. This will bring our winds out of the north for a few hours tonight into Friday morning but very little in the way of sensible weather will change with this system.
The upper air pattern will bring a trough into the region Sunday or Monday with a surface area of low pressure across Western OK Monday morning through afternoon. GFs and Euro data both suggest the potential for rain and storms with this system before the flow pushes the system into Ark early Tuesday morning. We should be in good shape for most of the Thanksgiving Holiday period, but another big system will be likely to impact the Pacific Northwest and there will remain a chance for another northeastern moving near the east coast Thursday and Friday. The data differs on a possible system for the southern plains including Oklahoma for Friday and Saturday. Stay tuned.
Our high yesterday was 59 recorded at 3:37pm.
The daily normal average high is61 and the low is 40.
