The Transport Workers Union says the latest number of layoffs at the Tulsa base won't be known for several days, in part because of computer problems at other stations in the American Airlines system.

The deadline for about 250 employees to decide between a layoff, wage concession or early buyout ended Monday.

The airline is in the midst of bankruptcy and the Transport Workers Union is managing the complexity of a layoff involving multiple sites.

Tulsa local 514 President Sam Cirri said, because of computer problems in Dallas, he won't know the numbers for a few days.

Cirri said at least two more rounds of notices and buyout offers would occur in the coming weeks and he expects the final numbers will come in mid-December.

Cirri said another round of layoffs notices and early buyout offers begins next Monday.
