Residents were evacuated from the Lakeside Group Home in the 3300 block of East Mohawk Boulevard early Thursday after a small fire.

Tulsa Fire Department was called to the home at about 4 a.m. after a caretaker smelled smoke.

The fire was in a bunk room on the second floor and firefighters were able to extinguish it quickly.

No one was injured and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Tulsa County Juvenile Bureau Brent Wolfe said the agency is waiting for Tulsa Fire Marshal's office to determine whether the undamaged portion of the facility can still be used.

The facility has a capacity of 21 residents and had a current resident count of 11. The home houses both male and female offenders, but will only house a single gender until renovations of the upstairs bunk room are completed.

The residents who were staying at the home are back with their families at this time.
