A Coweta man was charged Thursday in connection with the death of a pedestrian who was hit by a pickup truck earlier this month.

Police say Christopher Lee Lange, 24, was the driver of the vehicle that struck 43-year-old Robert Pitcher, of Broken Arrow.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. on November 2. Pitcher was found by another driver in the road near 91st Street and Dogwood. Pitcher was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lange was arrested the next day. He was charged Thursday with leaving the scene of a fatality crash and negligent homicide.

Broken Arrow Police said, after the incident, that alcohol was a suspected factor, but no charges were filed to that effect.
