Oral Roberts guard Warren Niles has been named the Southland Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, the league office announced Monday.
Niles led the Golden Eagles in scoring in two games last week, pouring in 21 points against both Oklahoma and Missouri State. In the two games, the senior from Cincinnati, Ohio made 16 of 27 shots (59.3 percent), was 5 of 12 from 3-point range and made 5 of 6 free throws. Niles led the team in rebounds with a career-high nine boards in a 20-point victory against Missouri State on Saturday. In the first half, he hit a transition 3-pointer at the buzzer, giving him 19 points in the half, five more than the entire Bears' roster (15). He held the Bear's leading scorer to just five points in the first half. Niles has scored in double figures in seven of the team's eight games, and has scored at least 20 points in five games.
The Golden Eagles travel to Texas State to face the Bobcats on Wednesday, Dec. 5.
