A Brookside business owner watching surveillance cameras at home called police after seeing a man inside the business.

The owner told Tulsa Police his business has been broken into twice in the past two weeks. He saw a man inside his business at about 11:30 Monday night and called 911.

"He saw the robbery taking place, immediately called us. and we arrived and surrounded the building," said Tulsa Police Sergeant Jim Clark.

Police surrounded the Peoria Office Park building in the 5500 block of South Peoria. They found a man inside another business in the building, but determined he wasn't the suspect. Police say he operates a recording studio in the building which had been burglarized recently and was staying in the studio to prevent another burglary.

"Luckily we had a recording, that we could compare physical characteristics and clothing. We excluded him and continued to search," Clark said.

As officers continued their search with the help of a K9 officer, they located James Estrada hiding in the ceiling of a business.

"We think that he broke in through a flower shop on the east side, or that he hid in the building until it was closed, the was no really noticeable point of entry into the building," Sergeant Clark said.

Estrada, who turned 29 Tuesday, was taken into custody and booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of second degree burglary and possession of burglary tools.

A car parked outside the office building was determined to belong to Estrada and was towed away to be searched.

Tulsa Police are trying to determine if Estrada is connected to those recent burglaries at the office building.
