Kadan Brady hit a three-pointer with just six seconds remaining to give Tulsa a 49-48 win on Tuesday night at Sapp Fieldhouse in Omaha, Nebraska. TU moved to 2-5 on the season, while UNO fell to 5-2 overall.

"The plan at the end of the game was to run motion and wait until there was just five seconds left and then to get the best shot we could get," TU head coach Matilda Mossman said. "Kadan only made two shots all night, but that was one of the biggest shots. She is a warrior, and thank goodness she has a lot of confidence in herself. She played a lot of minutes tonight because of her defensive ability, and the fact that she is going to go for loose balls and take charges. I am just excited for her that she had that opportunity and she made good on it."

Kelsee Grovey had a team-leading 11 points, while Taleya Mayberry and Mariah Turner each added 10 points. Tiffani Couisnard had a team-best nine rebounds, while Brady had three steals, four assists and six rebounds.

TU shot 38-percent from the field, 25-percent from three-point range and 30-percent from the line (3-for-10). The Hurricane had 24 points in the paint and 21 points off the bench.

The Mavericks were led by Paige Frauendorfer with 17 points, while Casse Vaughn added 10 and Tajhe Kelly scored eight. Frauendorfer also added a team-leading nine rebounds and three blocks, while Jamie Nash had eight assists and four steals.

Tulsa controlled the first half, outscoring UNO, 24-13. The Hurricane shot 37-percent from the field and had just four turnovers in the first frame, while holding the Mavs to 17-percent from the field and forcing six turnovers.

UNO fought back in the second half, posting a 24-13 run and holding TU scoreless for 6:45 off the clock to come back and tie the contest at 37-all with 9:30 left to play. Both teams traded baskets and the score was tied again at 46-all with less than 10 seconds to play, but the three-pointer by Brady and the field goal by Kelly ended the game with the 49-48 score.

Tulsa will return to action on Saturday, Dec. 8th against Colorado State. Game time is set for 2:30 pm at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
